School-ing

I'm very lucky to live within a few minutes of The Carolina Horse Park. A 315 acre, nationally recognized, premiere equine competition venue located in Hoke County, NC.

Pick almost any week and you can head out there and watch some spectacular horses and the athletes that ride them.

On this lovely Spring day I sat and watched a group schooling their horses before the competition. Round and round they went...over and over the jumps with their trainers calling out tips.

There's so much going on you dont realize you've been watching for hours. Quite mesmerizing.

Another full palette knife painting. Lots of thick paint and colorful highlights as the light bounces off of the horse's coats and the jackets of the riders.

24 x 48" oil and cold wax on canvas.

Gallery wrapped, no need for a frame.
