Blessings
On Thanksgiving mornings all across the United States hundreds of folks gather to get a chance to see The Blessing of the Hounds. Standing in a field on a sunny morning and watching the approach of the hunt makes the hair raise on your neck; it's stunning. The local pastor leads a prayer for the safety and success of the hunt. It's been happening for over a hundred years and hopefully will continue for hundreds more.
This painting captures the morning sun, the colors of the hunt and the energy of those beautiful blessed mornings.
