Frans Hals painted his Laughing Cavalier with a swagger that has endured for four centuries. This fox has the same energy — confident, amused, utterly at ease. My whimsical take on that famous Baroque portrait, rendered in oil on board and set in an antique Eastlake frame with all the character that comes with age.
